Veelgestelde vragen
Every coffee begins as a cherry that goes through a drying process. The method used shapes the flavor and intensity of the final cup.
With the washed process (lavado), the fruit pulp is removed before the beans are carefully washed and dried. This produces a lighter body, gentle acidity, and often subtle chocolate notes.
In the natural process, the whole cherry is dried in the sun, in the shade, or on raised beds. This results in a more intense profile, often fruity with a brighter acidity.
At Cosita Linda Coffee, we embrace the washed process (lavado). This meticulous method ensures the beans are thoroughly cleaned, allowing their pure flavors and aromas to shine through. The result is a bright, well-balanced coffee with a refined body and a vibrant, distinctive taste experience.
Cosita Linda Coffee packaging features a special one-way valve. This allows gases produced after roasting to escape while keeping oxygen out, helping the coffee stay fresh longer. Store the bag in a cool, dry, and dark place, such as a kitchen cupboard (not in the fridge). If you want to transfer the beans, use an airtight, opaque container.
The number of cups depends on your brewing style and taste, but on average, 10 grams of coffee makes one cup. That means a 500-gram bag gives you around 50 cups, while a 1-kilogram bag serves about 100 delicious cups of coffee.
Many people add sugar out of habit, often because they’re used to dark, bitter coffees of lower quality. Cosita Linda Coffee, however, naturally offers sweet and fruity notes, so sugar isn’t necessary and can even hide its delicate flavors. Ultimately, how you enjoy your coffee is up to you—sip it the way you love it most.
Coffee doesn't actually expire, but it does lose its freshness and aroma over time. Our coffee beans have an official shelf life of 1 year. For the best experience, we recommend drinking your coffee within 2-3 months of roasting .
Specialty coffee is coffee of the highest quality. The difference from regular coffee lies in its flavor, aroma, and the careful attention given to the beans from planting to roasting.
The quality is evaluated according to the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), an international organization that sets guidelines for flavor, aroma, purity, and consistency. Coffee is tested by certified tasters in a process called “cupping.” Beans receive a score from 0 to 100 points; to be classified as specialty coffee, a coffee must score at least 80 points. The higher the score, the more refined and complex the flavor experience.
Specialty coffee often comes from specific regions with ideal growing conditions and is cultivated, harvested, and processed with great care. This results in coffee with unique flavors and a character that reflects its origin. Additionally, specialty coffee often supports fair trade and sustainability, ensuring producers receive a fair price while respecting the environment.
Unlike supermarket coffee, which can sit for months losing its flavor and aroma, our premium beans come straight from Huila, Colombia, and are freshly roasted in small batches to preserve their full, complex taste. Carefully selected to meet strict quality standards, our beans guarantee a truly premium experience—while supporting local farmers and sustainable practices.
Cosita Linda Coffee delivers only the finest Excelso beans, prized for their exceptional quality. Perfect on their own or with milk, each cup delights with fresh aromas and a balanced, captivating flavor. Plus, every purchase supports Colombian farmers who craft their coffee with care, passion, and a commitment to sustainable, high-quality production.
Café Excelso is one of Colombia’s most renowned quality grades. Rather than a single variety, it’s a classification based on bean size and uniformity. Excelso beans are large, flawless, and carefully selected, delivering a balanced cup with bright acidity, medium to full body, and sweet, floral, or fruity notes. Globally, Excelso stands as a symbol of premium Colombian coffee.
Excelso beans are large, uniform, and carefully selected for the highest quality. They deliver a balanced flavor with bright acidity and a medium to full body, while their aromas range from sweet to floral or fruity depending on the region and harvest year. Every defective bean is meticulously removed, leaving only the very best for your cup.
The term “Excelso” refers to an export-quality coffee that meets strict Colombian standards. This ensures uniformity in size and appearance, a clean taste free of impurities, and a reliable benchmark that has put Colombia on the international map as a producer of high-quality coffee.
Café Castillo is a premium Colombian coffee variety developed by Cenicafé, the country’s national coffee research center. Engineered to resist coffee leaf rust (roya) while delivering high yields, it sets the standard for specialty coffee excellence. A cross between Caturra and the Timor Hybrid, Castillo thrives in the Colombian mountains, offering exceptional quality and flavor in every bean.
Castillo is celebrated for its perfectly balanced flavor. Delight in its sweet, gentle citrus notes and medium body, creating a smooth yet complex coffee experience that appeals to both casual coffee drinkers and true aficionados alike.
Castillo stands out for its resistance to diseases that affect many other varieties. This makes it a dependable choice for farmers and a favorite among consumers, thanks to its well-balanced flavor and refined aromas.
Café Caturra is a descendant of the Bourbon plant and was originally discovered in Brazil. In Colombia, it has become popular for its compact growth, which makes it easier to harvest. Caturra is also known for its high productivity and excellent flavor.
Caturra produces a fresh and balanced coffee, often with citrus and fruity notes. It has a medium body and a bright, sparkling acidity.
